I have developped my research expertise in the field of numerical simulations applied to the study of matter under extreme conditions. Using atomic-scale simulations, I characterize the thermodynamic properties (such as the equation of state and the phase diagrams) and the transport properties (such as the electrical and thermal conductivities) of complex mixtures under high pressure. Among the numerous applications, I am more specifically interested in planetary interiors. For instance, by studying the properties of silicate materials under high pressures, I demonstrated that large rocky planets could have a magnetic field produced within a deep magma ocean. This provides further constraints on the habitability of the recently discovered super-Earths. For these different projects, I am in close collaboration with several experimentalists and astrophysicists around the world.
