Plasma physicist specialized in high-power laser-plasma interaction and high-energy density plasma physics. My work relates to the challenging objective to bring matter at very high-energy densities using lasers. One major application is to obtain fusion reactions in the laboratory, enabling a potential future source of energy. In this context, many problems are still pending, the laser-plasma interaction physics being highly nonlinear. My studies are theoretical and based on numerical simulations, related to fields from optics and plasma waves to transport phenomena in plasmas. I collaborate with many colleagues within our group and abroad, and particularly with experimental groups. I enjoyed supervising my under-graduate (Master), PhD and post-graduate students for numerous years and continue to take part to the process of sharing experience with and training future young researchers.
