Physicist in theoretical physics, my research activities relate to dense and hot plasmas. My job is to develop models to describe the microscopic physics of these dense and hot plasmas in the context of inertial confinement physics. When it is possible, we seek to test our models against experimental results. It is not always possible given the difficulty of obtaining discriminating measurements in hot plasma physics, whether in nature, i.e., in astrophysics, or in the laboratory. The process is done step by step, going from the simplest to the most complicated, i.e. by refining the microscopic description of dense and hot plasmas. For example, my current activity consists in describing in a relativistic way as much as possible the properties of the media studied starting from a self-consistent and non-relativistic description.
