As a research scientist in experimental nuclear physics, my research activities are particularly geared towards the study of nuclear reactions. The goal is to understand the underlying mechanisms, as the gamma-decay cascade or neutron emission, involved in the de-excitation of the compound nucleus formed in the nuclear reaction. We performed measurements in this field to get valuable information about these mechanisms. Then, after meticulous data analysis including accurate simulations of the response of detectors, we compare our results to the predictions done by the theory in order to improve the description of nuclear reactions inside models and to reduce uncertainties for nuclear reactions cross sections. We imagine, conceive, undertake various experiments using Van de Graaff accelerators at CEA, linear accelerators at GANIL or at LANL (USA) or research nuclear reactor at ILL (Grenoble) with multiple detectors of gammas, charged particles and neutrons.
