I obtained my PhD in Laser Physics from the Ecole Polytechnique in 1998. I then joined the CEA-CESTA to carry out research work associated with the design and development of the Megajoule Laser. After a one-year stay at the LLNL laboratory in the United States, where I worked on the laser-induced damage in optics, I joined the CEA DAM Île-de-France in 2009. I am both an experimentalist and a numerical scientist, and now I work mainly on the laser interaction from solid to plasma. Through the development of the ESTHER hydrodynamic code, which I have widely disseminated in the scientific community, I study many physical phenomena such as the laser absorption in matter, energy transfers in dense plasmas and the mechanical behaviour of materials subjected to strong dynamic loads. Recently, I have also participated in several collaborative projects on the development of laser processes applied to aeronautics such as laser shock adhesion testing or laser shock peening. I received an accreditation to supervise research from the Paris-Saclay University in 2020 and I am an active member of the GDR CHOCOLAS.
