Alexis CASNER
Research director
In 2002, I obtained my Doctorate in Engineering Sciences and Physics from the University of Bordeaux, after obtaining an Agrégation (Aggregation) in Physics and Chemistry during my studies at ENS Paris-Saclay. I then joined CEA-DAM Île-de-France to continue my research on the development of hydrodynamic instabilities in Inertial Confinement Fusion experiments. I joined CEA CESTA in 2008 to coordinate experiments conducted on the LMJ prototype, the LIL. I obtained my HDR (Advanced Research and Qualification) in 2012 at the University of Bordeaux, focusing on implosions and hydrodynamic instabilities. I participated in the commissioning of the LMJ before joining the CELIA laboratory in 2018 as Deputy Director. I continued my work there on numerous collaborative projects, including the ANR TurboHEDP and experiments conducted on the NIF with colleagues from LLNL. My research currently focuses on the physics of magnetized plasmas, particularly the effect of applying an external magnetic field on the development of hydrodynamic instabilities and mixing in implosions.
