Etienne JAUPART

Scientist

I graduated from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon), where I obtained my Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics in 2017. Following my master’s degree and taking advantage of my final year as a student at the ENS, I began a research internship with Prof. Gilles Chabrier at CRAL - ENS de Lyon to study dense plasmas in astrophysics and the cooling of white dwarfs. From September 2018 to August 2021, I completed my doctoral thesis at ENS de Lyon with Prof. Chabrier on a statistical approach to astrophysical flows responsible for star formation. As a doctoral student and in parallel with my thesis topic, I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Nathan Mayne of the University of Exeter and his collaborators on the atmospheres of hot exoplanets and with Dr. Guillaume Laibe of ENS Lyon on the development of instabilities in protoplanetary disks. Since 2021, I have been working for the CEA on the thermodynamics of dense plasmas. My work focuses in particular on the physics of hydrogen and its mixtures with other constituents.
