ANR ASTRID PACTE-ESPACE

The PACTE-ESPACE project (Physique ACTivE des particules énergétiques, des ondes, et de leurs interactions dans l’ESPACE proche Terre) has been selected by ANR ASTRID. PACTE-ESPACE is an basic research project that uses physical observation, theory and numerical techniques to study electronic activity, i.e. the dynamics of energetic electrons and waves in near-Earth space, in the case of natural events and human activities. This project is proposed by LMCE researchers, in collaboration with CNRS researchers (LPP at École Polytechnique and IRAP in Toulouse) and Airbus DS engineers. It fits in with the guidelines of the "Document d’Orientation de l’Innovation de Défense 2019", including the improvement of space surveillance from space. PACTE-ESPACE will also help make progress in the field of electronic activities in space, both in terms of observations and physico-numerical calculations.
